Ever wonder why some people see faster lash growth than others?
𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙮!
All the hair on our bodies sheds and re-grows, as each part of the body, sheds hair in its cycle of growth.
Eyelashes go through 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 distinct phases in the eyelash growth cycle:

𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐍
(𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩)
This is the phase where your lashes are growing, and will normally grow to a full length. This process usually lasts between 4-6 weeks.
𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐍
(𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯)
This transition phase is when the lash has stopped growing but isn’t yet ready to shed. The hair follicle will start to shrink, making room for the new hair to start growing underneath. This stage lasts approx. 2-3 weeks.
𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐍
(𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨)
It’s a resting stage in which the eyelash can stay in the follicle for up to 100 days before falling out and starting the new lash growth cycle.
Therefore, it is important to understand that it’s perfectly normal for your eyelashes to shed. However, proper aftercare of your lashes is also imperative to the shelf life of eyelash extensions and maintaining healthy eyelash follicles.
